Gavin Tanner   Right Fielder | Free Agents Hitting The book on Tanner is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. I tell you, it's a real trip to watch this kid play. He gives 110% all the time... unfortunately that means he tends to run out of gas as the game wears on. Tanner always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. Baserunning & Defense Tanner gets excellent jumps in the outfield, which more than make up for his average speed, and he's fearless around the outfield wall. His arm is accurate enough. Tanner is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. 2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Tanner to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.           -- Moostard Nyman
