But Dennis's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Tilson always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.
Baserunning & Defense
He's at his best in situations where a base has to be stolen, such as the late innings of close games. His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is slightly above average with a quick release.
2025 Outlook
The Free Agents signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Tilson like a hot potato if something better comes along. It's really a shame he hasn't caught on somewhere. He might be a decent addition to someone's bench. Tilson admits he probably never will have even average power.
