Matthew Warnick   Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting Warnick seems to become especially focused in big situations. Warnick never has been a patient hitter. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. He absolutely loves playing before the hometown crowd. Baserunning & Defense Warnick doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. Warnick is a poor defensive catcher.
