Mechue Wetteland
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting The book on Wetteland is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Wetteland hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Wetteland you're not putting him in for his glove. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Wetteland isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
