Shane Whelan   Relief Pitcher | Sask Yellow Jackets Pitching He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. Whelan's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. Whelan also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders. Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is merely average. Whelan is nothing special in the field. Whelan is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Whelan has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Sask Yellow Jackets have been known to use Whelan as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook Whelan is ready for the big time. The Sask Yellow Jackets will call him up as soon as they can figure out who to send down.
