Grant Whitson   Starting Pitcher | Fredericton Bandits Pitching He keeps the ball down and gets a lot of groundballs. Whitson can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Whitson also has a decent changeup. Never a hard thrower, Whitson now has games when he can't hit 85 MPH with his fastball. He traditionally fares better against lefties. Defense & Hitting Whitson does an average job of holding runners. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Whitson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Whitson has some pop in his swing. 2025 Outlook If Whitson doesn't perform, the Fredericton Bandits won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
