Remy Ahmadi
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. Ahmadi has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. Dating back to his days in the minors, Ahmadi has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. Ahmadi is nothing special in the field. Ahmadi is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Ahmadi has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Ahmadi as a pinch-runner on occasion.
