Gabriel Boddicker
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Boddicker's endurance makes him well suited to long relief. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! No one questions this kid's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is only fair. A shaky fielder, he's slow to react to grounders and often looks unsure on his throws to the bases. Boddicker is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Boddicker has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Boddicker as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Boddicker has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Retired or Inactive Players will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
