Pitching
He's a pretty good ground-ball pitcher, which I like because ground balls stay in the park. Boes can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His composure needs work. When Boes starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.

Defense & Hitting
He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Boes doesn't make much of an attempt to combat the running game. Basestealers ran at will last year. Boes is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Boes has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Boes as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2025 Outlook
If Boes doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
