Roger Day
Relief Pitcher | Fredericton Bandits
Pitching Though Day can't just blow the ball by hitters, he has some giddyup on his fastball. Day also has a solid changeup that he'll use at any point in the count. His slider is sharp and breaks both horizontally and vertically. Never a hard thrower, Day now has games when he can't hit 85 MPH with his fastball. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting Day uses a slide step to keep runners close. Day is nothing special in the field. Day is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Day has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Fredericton Bandits have been known to use Day as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Fredericton Bandits signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Day like a hot potato if something better comes along.
