Steven Dermody   Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. He walks too many hitters and throws too many pitches. But Dermody, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success. Defense & Hitting His move to first base continues to be erratic, resulting in poor throws at times. He's slow to get off the mound to field his position, especially to the third-base side. Dermody is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Dermody has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Dermody as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook Dermody was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Dermody? But if you ask me, I'll pass on Dermody.           -- Moostard Nyman
