Craig Watson   Starting Pitcher | PEI Argonauts Pitching He produces tons of groundballs with his downward movement. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. The PEI Argonauts hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success. Defense & Hitting Watson is nothing special in the field. He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. Watson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Watson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The PEI Argonauts have been known to use Watson as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook I can't say I know what The PEI Argonauts were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Watson has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the PEI Argonauts will give him his walking papers before the end of the season.
