Miah Downie
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Downie is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Miah Downie to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical. Minor league scouts have accused Downie of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.
