Pete Eagan
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching The key to Eagan's success always has been his ability to keep hitters off balance by changing speeds and spotting his pitches. He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. Eagan also has a decent changeup. Eagan gives up his share of home runs, but is always around the plate and doesn't give up many walks. Eagan has no endurance. He's good for an inning an outing, tops. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting Eagan does an average job of holding runners. Eagan is nothing special in the field. Eagan is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Eagan has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Eagan as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Eagan isn't cutting the mustard in the low minors. It's time for Pete to investigate other career options, like coaching highschool ball. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Eagan.
