Keith Elliott
Relief Pitcher | Cold Lake Mud Cats
Pitching Elliott changeup is 15 MPH slower than the fastball, and he has so mastered the pitch that he can throw it three different ways with three different actions. Elliott's control is among the best in the game. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. Elliott has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. Elliott's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. Dating back to his days in the minors, Elliott has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting He's average in terms of controlling the running game. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Elliott is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Elliott has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Cold Lake Mud Cats have been known to use Elliott as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Cold Lake Mud Cats signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Elliott like a hot potato if something better comes along.
