Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Gait never has been a patient hitter. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. Rooney's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Gait isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.

2025 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Gait to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
