Paul Garett
Starting Pitcher | Grand Rapids Red Dogs
Pitching Garett is a control pitcher; when he's on he has pinpoint control. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Garett gives up his share of home runs, but is always around the plate and doesn't give up many walks. His composure needs work. When Garett starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He fields both bunts and slow groundballs in front of the plate equally well. He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Garett is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Garett has some pop in his swing.
