John Hakim
Relief Pitcher | Cobourg Stampeders
Pitching He is adept at coaxing groundballs with his sinking fastball and plunging curveball, so hitters try to force him to elevate his deliveries and hope that they'll catch too much of the strike zone. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. His changeup isn't bad... he fools his share of hitters. His curveball is solid; he throws it better than your average reliever. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is only fair. A shaky fielder, he's slow to react to grounders and often looks unsure on his throws to the bases. Hakim is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Hakim has some pop in his swing.
