Midre Jakucki
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Jakucki is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Jakucki always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense Jakucki doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.
