Archer Joecks
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Joecks is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Joecks when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.
Baserunning & Defense He usually does an excellent job of blocking balls in the dirt, though he can occasionally get lazy late in a season. His arm is accurate enough. Joecks has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner.
2025 Outlook Joecks isn't cutting the mustard in the low minors. It's time for Archer to investigate other career options, like coaching highschool ball.
