Carey Lasecki   Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching Lasecki also throws a screwball. Let's just say he's screwy on the field and off... so watch out for that devastating screwball! God, who doesn't love a knuckler? I saw a slow-motion version of one of his pitches on TV, it's no wonder they're unhittable! His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup. Defense & Hitting Lasecki does an average job of holding runners. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Lasecki is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Lasecki has some pop in his swing.
