George Lisi
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Lisi has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. Lisi also throws a screwball. The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Lisi's curveball tends to hang. The problem is that he has no workable game plan against lefties, who routinely light him up.
Defense & Hitting Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. Lisi is nothing special in the field. Lisi is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Lisi has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Lisi as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook One has to wonder what George Lisi is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Lisi.
