Travis McKenzie
Starting Pitcher | Fredericton Bandits
Pitching He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. McKenzie also has a decent changeup. His pitches lose some movement when he pitches from the stretch position. If you're going in to face McKenzie, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He has a quick release to the plate, which allows catchers a chance to throw out basestealers. He gets off the mound fairly quickly and his throws to first are hard. McKenzie is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but McKenzie has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook I can't say I know what The Fredericton Bandits were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. If McKenzie doesn't perform, the Fredericton Bandits won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Fredericton Bandits are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
