Blaine Mitchell   Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! If you're going in to face Mitchell, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties. Defense & Hitting Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. Mitchell is nothing special in the field. Mitchell is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Mitchell has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Mitchell as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook Mitchell was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I can't say I know what The Retired or Inactive Players were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.           -- Moostard Nyman
