Eric Moules
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Moules likes to get hitters looking down and away, then ties them up by coming inside with hard stuff, getting a lot of groundball outs. If you're going in to face Moules, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Moules's curveball tends to hang. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting Moules does a very poor job of holding baserunners because of his deliberate move to home plate. Moules comes off the mound hard toward the third base side on his delivery, making it difficult for him to field balls to the right side or to cover first base on a close play. Moules is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Moules has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook Moules was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Moules? But if you ask me, I'll pass on Moules.
