Relief Pitcher | PEI Argonauts
Musselman's bread-and-butter pitch is a hard, two-seam fastball that rides in on righthanders' fists. The bottom also falls out of his very good changeup. Musselman has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. The PEI Argonauts hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. Never a hard thrower, Musselman now has games when he can't hit 85 MPH with his fastball. Dating back to his days in the minors, Musselman has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting
Musselman has one of the better pickoff moves among big league righthanders. Musselman has an impressive presence on the mound, always taking an aggressive posture. Musselman is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Musselman has some pop in his swing.
If Musselman doesn't perform, the PEI Argonauts won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The PEI Argonauts are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
