Ed Plodinec
Left Fielder | Free Agents
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Plodinec is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Plodinec always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He is easy prey for any righthander who can throw a slider off the outside corner. Plodinec handles lefthanders who bring the ball into his quick hands much better.
Baserunning & Defense His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Plodinec doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Ed's arm leaves a little to be a desired.
2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Plodinec to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
