Jeramy Politi   Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching He keeps his pitches low in the strike zone and throws a heavy ball. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Politi also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders. Defense & Hitting Politi is nothing special in the field. Politi doesn't make much of an attempt to combat the running game. Basestealers ran at will last year. Politi is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Politi has some pop in his swing.
