Scott Roads
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting The book on Roads is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Scott Roads to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense Roads doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often. When you play Roads you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough.
2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Roads to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
