Bob Stickings
Starting Pitcher | Lethbridge Typhoon
Pitching He produces tons of groundballs with his downward movement. His changeup isn't bad... he fools his share of hitters. Stickings can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. His composure needs work. When Stickings starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting A quick pickoff move and a slide step prevent runners from stealing bases. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Stickings is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Stickings has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook Stickings performance in AAA is making it difficult for the Lethbridge Typhoon to ignore him much longer. Expect his name to be on the September call-up list. I really like what this guy brings to the table.
