Rudolf Tatersall
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting The book on Tatersall is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. With his slap-hitting approach, Tatersall always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Rudolf Tatersall to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense Tatersall doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.
