Kasyn Warhop
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Warhop can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. The one thing I must say I don't like about Warhop is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. He hurts himself by falling awkwardly off the mound in his follow-through, which allows too many balls to go through the middle for base hits. Warhop is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Warhop has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Warhop as a pinch-runner on occasion.
