Chet Bartley   Third Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting The book on Bartley is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. Baserunning & Defense Bartley plays a near-flawless third baseman, making very few errors. Bartley has one of the strongest arms among third basemen. Bartley doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. 2025 Outlook Bartley flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition.
