Charley Brunelle
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He walks too many hitters and throws too many pitches. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. A shaky fielder, he's slow to react to grounders and often looks unsure on his throws to the bases. Brunelle is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Brunelle has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Brunelle as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook One has to wonder what Charley Brunelle is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Brunelle.
