Corey Lomax
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Lomax is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. I tell you, it's a real trip to watch this kid play. He gives 110% all the time... unfortunately that means he tends to run out of gas as the game wears on. Lomax always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.
Baserunning & Defense Lomax doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. Corey's arm leaves a little to be a desired.
2025 Outlook Lomax was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Lomax?
