Pitching
Papworth can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. He has an above-average changeup and the ability to throw from a variety of arm angles. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
His pickoff move is merely average. Papworth's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. Papworth is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Papworth has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Halifax Oilers have been known to use Papworth as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2025 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Halifax Oilers were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Papworth has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Halifax Oilers will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Halifax Oilers are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
