Rusty Platter
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Platter is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.
Baserunning & Defense His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. Rusty's arm leaves a little to be a desired.
