Marco Speers   Relief Pitcher | Val d'Or Sharks Pitching He produces tons of groundballs with his downward movement. His curveball is solid; he throws it better than your average reliever. Speers also has a decent changeup. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success. Defense & Hitting Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. Speers has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. Speers is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Speers has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Val d'Or Sharks have been known to use Speers as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook The Val d'Or Sharks signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Speers like a hot potato if something better comes along.           -- Ska Nyman, A-Ball Scout
