Marino Vinroe
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting The book on Vinroe is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. Marino Vinroe has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Vinroe you're not putting him in for his glove. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.
