Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players
One of the nice things about Greg is that he's a real clutch hitter. The book on Barr is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Barr always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Barr when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.
Baserunning & Defense
His arm is below average but not a major weakness. Barr doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often.
If Barr doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
