Mike Haddon
Relief Pitcher | Vancouver Orcas
Pitching Haddon's bread and butter pitch is his slider. I've seen it baffle many a lefty. He's a finesse pitcher, relying on movement and location. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. Haddon's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. Haddon also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting He has a quick release to the plate, which allows catchers a chance to throw out basestealers. Haddon is nothing special in the field. Haddon is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Haddon has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Vancouver Orcas have been known to use Haddon as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Vancouver Orcas were smart, they locked Haddon up to a long term contract. Haddon has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Vancouver Orcas to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up. I really like what this guy brings to the table.
