Starting Pitcher | Toronto Polar Bears
When healthy, Beermann is the prototypical veteran finesse pitcher. Beermann has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. Beermann also has a decent changeup. Dating back to his days in the minors, Beermann has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting
His pickoff move is only fair. He tends to fall off slightly to the first-base side of the mound, making him vulnerable to bunts toward third base. He makes up for that minor flaw by being aggressive in fielding his position. Beermann is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Beermann has some pop in his swing.
If Beermann doesn't perform, the Toronto Polar Bears won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Toronto Polar Bears are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
